STORYLINE:

Horgos Port in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region saw a rise in imports and exports in the first half of this year, customs data showed.

From January to June, imports and exports at this land port bordering Kazakhstan reached 21.34 million tonnes, an increase of 9.8 percent compared with the same period last year, according to the Horgos Customs.

Customs said imports were mainly mechanical and electrical products, unwrought copper and copper material, agricultural products, and food, among others, while exports included electric vehicles, mechanical and electrical products, high-tech products, garments, and textile yarn.
