Late night skinny-dipping tourist sparks outrage on Thai island
A tourist sparked outrage when he went for a late-night skinny dip on a beach in Thailand.
Footage shows the naked male tourist wading through the shallows seemingly enjoying the cool night breeze on his exposed genitals on July 29 evening.
A shocked Thai onlooker said the man played in the sea for several minutes before returning to shore. He then put his shorts back on and wandered through bars along Patong Beach in Phuket.
Outraged locals urged authorities to enforce stricter regulations on the beaches - a favourite for tourists to strip and romp.
The filmer said: 'I was surprised to see someone without their clothes. I don't know why they think it's OK. This is a public beach for everyone to use.'
Thailand is no stranger to tourists disrobing in public.
On June 6, British tourist Philip Raymond North, 32, was warned by police for allegedly sunbathing naked next to a convenience store in Phuket.
While on April 8, another male tourist stripped naked shocked passing drivers when he removed his underwear and danced like a male stripper in front of his friends at Ao Nang Beach in Krabi province.
Under Section 388 of Thailand's Criminal Code, 'any person who performs such a disgraceful act in public by undressing himself, exhibiting his undressed person or committing any other act of obscenity shall be liable to a fine not exceeding five hundred baht'.
