A boy lying in the middle of a busy road narrowly escaped being run over by a car in China.

The CCTV footage was recorded in Zhanjiang City in Guangdong Province on August 12.

The incident began when a boy, dressed in white, had a heated argument with his mother on the roadside. In a fit of anger, the child suddenly lay down on the road, refusing to get up.

The mother, after multiple attempts to coax the boy, chose to walk away, leaving her child alone in the middle of a bustling street.

Shortly after the mother left, a black car entered the frame of the surveillance camera. The driver, possibly distracted or with an obstructed view, failed to notice the boy lying on the ground. The car’s front wheel narrowly missed the child, but the rear wheel tragically rolled over a spot dangerously close to the child’s head.

Immediately following the incident, the horrified mother rushed back to scoop up her child.

Local traffic police later confirmed that the vehicle’s tyre only grazed the child’s head, and miraculously, the child escaped serious injury.
