Footage shows the successful completion of testing on the Renfrew Bridge in Scotland.

The new span, part of the £1.13 billion Clyde Waterfront and Renfrew Riverside (CWRR) project, aims to enhance connectivity between Renfrew, Clydebank, and Yoker, offering significant economic and social benefits.

Located across the River Clyde, the bridge will improve access to employment, healthcare, and education.

Operational testing conducted by contractor GRAHAM marks a significant milestone as the project progresses towards its official opening later this year.

The bridge also features new travel links from Yoker Railway Station to Renfrew and the Advanced Manufacturing Innovation District Scotland (AMIDS).

Renfrewshire Council Leader Iain Nicolson commended the project for contributing to job creation, housing development, and infrastructure improvement.

The council leader said: 'It's fantastic to witness this project achieve significant milestones as it progresses.'

'The CWRR project not only creates thousands of jobs but also offers new housing prospects and infrastructure improvements that will enrich the lives of current and future generations.'

GRAHAM Project Director Jim Armour described the successful testing as a testament to the team's dedication.

He said: 'Closing the bridge for the first time in a smooth and controlled operation is a testament to the dedication of our team over the past few years.'

'We look forward to proceeding with commissioning and ensuring the bridge operates reliably and safely before its official opening.'

The Renfrew Bridge project, funded by the UK and Scottish Governments through the Glasgow City Region City Deal, is scheduled for completion in late autumn and forms part of a broader regional investment program.
