A fierce shootout was recorded in the last few hours in the Buenos Aires town of Ciudad Jardín, in the Tres de Febrero district, when two police officers faced four hooded and armed suspects who stole the money from the collection of a collection terminal in the area, indicated sources of the case.
The violent episode was filmed by neighbors who were in the area and were surprised by the shooting in Rossetti, between Aviador Pedro Zanni and Bulevar San Martín avenue, in the center of Ciudad Jardín.
The incident occurred around noon on Monday, when two agents of the Buenos Aires Police who were carrying out prevention tasks saw the four robbers escape from a Rapipago (payment center) from where they had stolen the collection. The suspects boarded a white Toyota Corolla Cross.
At that moment, the criminals opened fire to pass and avoid being arrested. After shooting incessantly, they fled in the vehicle towards Avenida Márquez. As a result of the intense shooting, a man was wounded in the scalp, sources told this newspaper, although they did not give further details.
In the images that circulated among different groups of neighbors, two uniformed women can be seen taking cover behind the patrol car from the bullets fired at them from the Toyota Corolla in front of the busy El Palomar train station. Meanwhile, more than 15 shots were heard.
