Escaped pet macaque viciously attacks owner
This is the shocking moment an escaped pet macaque viciously attacked its owner.
The eight-year-old monkey named Thongpoon had broken free from its leash while travelling with owner Khanitha Chainarong to collect coconuts at an orchard in Phang Nga province, Thailand, on September 1.
Khanitha called a village officer for help, and they found Thongpoon wandering at the junction of the Bang Maruan and Ban Bang Muang roads.
CCTV footage shows Khanitha in a green raincoat trying to lure the simian with powdered milk and yoghurt. However, Thongpoon suddenly bit her arm, prompting the village official to capture it inside a cage.
Khanitha said: 'I'm not worried because the wound wasn't too deep. Thongpoon must have been agitated when it saw us approaching with the cage.'
The monkey owner said she went to a hospital to have her injury treated.
