Monkey found hiding inside car bumper after driver felt 'she hit something'
A monkey was found hiding inside the bumper of a car after the driver ‘felt she hit something'.
The long-tailed macaque was spotted clinging to the vehicle when the driver pulled over to check in Nakhon Nayok province, Thailand on May 27.
It refused to come out as it appeared to be slightly injured, so rescuers were called to the scene to help pull it to safety.
However, while the vets were preparing to remove the monkey, it jumped away into the trees on a park at the other side of the road.
Car owner Suphansa Klakarana, 26, said: ‘I thought I felt that I hit something. It could have been a stray dog so I pulled over to have a look.
‘I saw brown hair on the bumper and looked inside then I saw the monkey.'
Vets tried to catch the monkey, but it climbed further up the trees. Park officers said they would monitor the monkey for symptoms, although it appeared to have been only slightly hurt.
