Adorable pet dogs joined a Buddhist monk on a boat ride along a river.

The 13 pooches perched on the wooden vessel while the orange-robed religious devotee sat in the middle in Pathum Thani province, Thailand, on September 1.

Footage shows the canines sitting in the boat as they sailed to a temple. Some of the dogs stayed on their seats while there were curious ones walking around while watching the surroundings.

Onlooker Teerapong Buaklee said he went to Wat Chin Wararam temple to give offerings when he saw the pack of dogs with the monk.

He said: ‘The dogs accompanied the monk to go out and beg for alms.'

Buddhism is the official religion of Thailand where it was followed by more than 95 per cent of the population.
