Gaza Strip: Palestinian death toll in Gaza rises to 41,206

The Palestinian death toll from the ongoing Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip had risen to 41,206, Gaza-based health authorities said in a statement on Sunday.
During the past 24 hours, the Israeli military killed 24 Palestinians and wounded 137 others, bringing the total death toll to 41,206 and the injured to 95,337 since the outbreak of the latest round of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict in last October, the health authorities said.
Meanwhile, Gaza-based media office said in a statement that the number of displaced people in the enclave has risen from 1.9 million to two million.
For now, a total of 543 shelters have been set up. However, about 74 percent of tents where displaced people live are already unusable. To be more specific, 100,000 out of 135,000 tents need to be replaced immediately.
The media office called for the international community to provide emergency assistance to the displaced people in the Gaza Strip.
On the same day, Israeli military said that its army launched an airstrike to a school in Beit Hanoun.
This is Israeli army's third attack targeting schools in Gaza within five days, according to Al Jazeera.
Palestinian official news agency WAFA reported that the school was used to shelter a large number of displaced residents. However, Israeli military claimed that there was a Hamas command center in the school, so they launched the attack.
For now, the casualties caused by the airstrike are still being tallied.
According to the Palestinian media, the Israeli military launched multiple attacks on Gaza City and Nuseirat refugee camp on Sunday, killing at least eight Palestinians.
The Gaza-based civil defense department also said on the same day that Israel attacked a residential building in Jabalia, causing many casualties.
