This is the dramatic moment residents rush to pull a child and a man from an electric car after it smashed into a concrete barrier in front of a village square and burst into flames.

The CCTV footage was recorded at a village on the outskirts of Tangshan in Hebei, China, on September 11.

The video shows the car suddenly appearing and crashing into the concrete barrier, which remains intact. The vehicle then flips onto its side and collides with a parked car.

The shocked owner of the parked car initially approaches the crash scene but, noticing the electric car is smoking, retreats to his vehicle. He moves it to a safe distance before returning to assist with the electric car.

As flames erupted from the vehicle, which still had a man trapped inside, people, including police officers, rushed over and opened the car doors to rescue both the child and the man from the burning car.

Attempts to extinguish the flames were only partially successful, and by the end of the video, the vehicle remained engulfed in flames as people watched from afar.
