India: Close call! Municipal truck sinks into a pit after road collapses in western India
Pune, India - September 20, 2024
In a dramatic incident in western India’s Maharashtra, a municipal corporation truck fell upside down into a pit when the road caved in.
The incident took place at Samadhan Square in the Budwar Peth area of Pune city on September 20.
Visuals showed the truck moving slowly within a compound before suddenly tipping backward into the pit as the road collapsed beneath it. Bystanders watched in shock as the road appeared to swallow the truck, though the engine and driver’s cabin remained outside the pit, allowing for a timely rescue.
According to reports, the Pune fire brigade arrived quickly, preventing what could have been a fatal outcome for both the driver and helper. Their prompt action ensured the safe rescue of both individuals.
