Bay Village, United States - October 14, 2024

On Monday, October 14, the Bay Village Police Department was alerted to an unusual situation: a giant inflatable pumpkin had broken free from its moorings, creating a disturbance in the Wolf Road and Saddler Road vicinity. An officer was promptly dispatched to handle the runaway decoration, which had taken on a life of its own, rolling through the neighborhood.

As the officer approached the pumpkin, perhaps underestimating its size or enthusiasm, the inflatable suddenly engulfed him, leading to a sight that could have come straight out of a whimsical Halloween movie.

The police department, in a statement filled with humor and relief, clarified, "Luckily, no officers (or pumpkins) were harmed during the event." The statement continued, recounting how backup officers arrived at the scene, not to rescue their colleague but to manage the runaway decoration, eventually returning it to its rightful place at a local homeowner's property.
