Police probe explosion that ripped through street in Delhi
Police are investigating an explosion that ripped through a street in Delhi, India.
CCTV footage shows the intensity of the blast near the CRPF School in Rohini Sector 14 around 7:30 am on Sunday, October 20.
Police confirmed that the explosion damaged the school's wall, shattered window panes of nearby shops, and affected a few parked cars.
Local media reported that it was a low-intensity IED (Improvised Explosive Device) controlled with a timer or remote, without shrapnel or ball bearings.
It was suspected that the perpetrators wanted to send a message to the authorities, though no one had taken responsibility for the blast.
Teams from the National Investigation Agency (NIA), National Security Guard (NSG), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and Delhi Police cordoned off the area, and forensic experts collected samples from the site.
Authorities stated that no one was hurt in the incident.
