Soldiers delivered aid to communities battered by severe tropical storm Trami in the Philippines.

Footage shows the 9th Infantry Division of the Philippine Army packing and distributing food and bottled water to residents in the flood-stricken city of Naga in Camarines Sur province on October 26.

Trami, known locally as Kristine, intensified into a severe tropical storm as it churned over the Philippine Sea on October 23.

Philippine weather agency PAGASA said it made landfall over Isabela province in the country's northeast at 12:30am on Thursday, October 24.

Authorities said at least 136 people have died or were missing as more than half a million people fled to evacuation shelters across the northern and central parts of the country.

Trami made landfall over Thua Thien-Hue and Da on October 27, posing flood risks in the country's central region.

The Philippines and neighbouring countries in Southeast Asia are in their annual monsoon rainy season which sees soaring temperatures followed by powerful rain storms in the afternoon leading to widespread flash floods.
