Dozens of passengers were injured when a state-run bus crashed into a parked coach in India.

The Telangana Road Transport Corporation bus was headed for Vijayawada City in Andhra Pradesh when it reportedly rammed into the private bus along National Highway NH65 in the Suryapet District of Telengana on November 2.

Authorities said 30 people were injured, four of them critically. They were rushed to a government hospital for treatment.

Police said the cause of the accident was under investigation.

India has one of the highest rates of road accidents in the world, with thousands of fatalities and injuries reported each year.

The poor track record is blamed on unsafe road conditions, reckless driving, inadequate enforcement of traffic laws, and a lack of awareness about road safety.
