China - November 08, 2024 Global innovators showcase tech advancements at 7th CIIE (Stand_up) Dai Kaiyi, Reporter: "This is the Intelligent Industry & Information Technology Hall at the 7th Expo, showcasing all the latest cutting-edge technologies. It’s as packed as last year, with exhibitors busy presenting their innovations and visitors eager to see what’s on offer." (Voice_over) Based in Silicon Valley, the company ZAP makes what it calls the “next generation” surgical device, specifically designed for radiation treatment for brain tumors. (Sound_bite) Dr. John Adler, Jr., Professor of Neurosurgery, Founder and CEO, Zap Surgical Systems: "My company ZAP Surgical makes ZAP-X, that make it possible to operate without blood without pain, and on an outpatient basis, I believe it’s part of the next generation of surgery revolution." (Voice_over) Adler believes this surgical instrument needs a big market like China. (Sound_bite) Dr. John Adler, Jr., Professor of Neurosurgery, Founder and CEO, Zap Surgical Systems: "The CIIE is here about the future, and I think we are trying to find products that will advance the world at large, but especially here the Chinese market. China now being a country on the future, a nation of the future. I’m excited to be here to tell the story." (Voice_over) Like ZAP, German optical company ZEISS is focused on business strategy in China. (Sound_bite) Maximilian Foerst, President and CEO, ZEISS Greater China: "The first CIIE, 100 percent of the products were products which were being imported. If you look on the boost today, 50 percent of the products are products which have been developed in China, manufactured in China, either in those ZEISS facilities in R&D centers or together with local partners. It shows you a bit how the CIIE has really brought the community together to develop new ideas and innovation." (Voice_over) For Xylem, a water equipment supplier, the goal is building a safer world for water resources. At this year’s China International Import Expo, the company showcased products like a smart ozone system designed to support water treatment plants. (Sound_bite) Lu Shuping, President, Xylem China: "Every year we come here. It is an open platform where we see a lot of cutting-edge technology. It is also a platform for us to showcase our advanced water treatment technology. So, we have a platform to interchange with our partners, with the eco partners in here. This is really, China is a hotbed for innovation and high tech." (Voice_over) She said as an innovative solution provider, China is the best place for the company.
