Murchison, United States - December 02, 2024 Eve, the once hairless “bare bear” found dumpster diving in Northern California, is now unrecognizable with a thick coat of fur and a thriving life at Black Beauty Ranch. Discovered on Christmas Eve 2017, weighing just 30 pounds and suffering from severe mange, Eve has undergone a remarkable transformation after five years at the 1,400-acre sanctuary. Now 160 pounds, Eve has blossomed into an inquisitive and spirited bear, roaming her natural habitat, climbing trees, splashing in her pool, and foraging for food scattered by her caretakers. Her caregivers celebrate her resilience and natural wild behaviors, a stark contrast to her frail beginnings. “Eve has been through so much and has come into her own,” said Sue Tygielski, senior director of Black Beauty Ranch. “She is thriving and living the life she deserves.” Eve shares her sanctuary with three other bears and enjoys observing her neighbors, including a retired circus bear and a mother-son duo. Her inspiring journey is a testament to the sanctuary’s mission to provide rescued animals with a second chance at life.
