Footage shows how a pet dog made a recovery after suffering from food poisoning from fish.

Chambi, a Chowchow-Japanese Spitz mixed breed, had consumed raw fish innards, leaving her weak at their home in Pangasinan, the Philippines, on December 2.

This led her owner, Aira Pescador, to rush Chambi to a veterinary clinic the following morning, where she was confined for two days.

Footage shows a medical worker carrying one-year-old Chambi as the pooch received IV fluids. He gently placed the dog on a table to perform a physical check-up.

Aira said: 'I was crying when I saw my dog very weak. There were no available vet clinics at that time, and we had to wait until morning. I am so thankful that she made a full recovery.'

Raw fish can harbour parasites such as tapeworms, roundworms, and flukes, which can cause serious health problems for dogs, including vomiting, diarrhoea, fever, and seizures. It can also contain harmful bacteria such as salmonella, Listeria, and Clostridium.
