A firefighting helicopter dropped water on the Madera Fire in Simi Valley, California.

The fire, which scorched about 1.5 acres, was first reported on Wednesday, December 11, around 10:25 am, near the landfill and recycling facility at 2801 Madera Road.

Strong east winds fueled the blaze, prompting a full brush response that included fixed-wing aircraft and Ventura County Fire Department's FireHawk helicopters.

Footage shows one aircraft dumping fire retardant while another dropped water to help control the flames.

No injuries or property damage were reported, authorities said.
