This is the heartwarming moment a Good Samaritan helped an elderly woman by providing a makeshift funnel to pour rice into a plastic bottle.

The pensioner was struggling to transfer the rice into a large container with a narrow opening, forcing her to laboriously pour the grains from a bucket with her hands in Jiangsu, China, on December 10.

Upon seeing this, Ms Dong did not hesitate to offer assistance to the elderly woman.

Footage shows the kindhearted lady treating the pensioner to a boba milk tea from the local Mixue store.

Moments later, Ms Dong cut a hole in the bottom of an insulated bag and attached a bottleneck, cut from another container, to create a DIY funnel.

They then tested the makeshift funnel by adding the rice, which smoothly passed through the bag and into the gallon.

Ms Dong said: 'When I saw her using her hands to pour the rice, I just couldn't help but help her. She struggled day by day just to transfer the rice that way, and I knew I had to do something about it.'
