Last-minute Christmas shoppers charged into a mall, racing to buy discounted clothes.

The bargain hunters waited for hours outside Imart Terminal Mall before dashing through the entrance creating zombie apocalypse-like scenes in Cavite, the Philippines.

Footage shows dozens of buyers pouring through the door. Some of them ran up the escalator while the others went to the shops near the entrance.

They rushed to pick up second-hand branded clothing displayed on the floor, hogging everything they could.

Shop owner Edmar Candelario said: 'They found out we were going to open with new arrivals of stock and they waited outside early in the morning. Many people were buying gifts or hoarding so they could sell on the items.'

The shops were left cluttered by the customers, but almost half of the new stock was gone before afternoon.

The Philippines has a strong thrift shopping culture, known as 'ukay-ukay,' which normalises second-hand shopping across all social classes.

While many Filipinos aspire to own luxury brands, high retail prices often present a barrier. Second-hand markets offer a more affordable way to access designer goods, making luxury items more attainable at significantly reduced prices.
