Indianapolis, United States - October 01, 2024 The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) has released heart-stopping body camera footage showing Officer Kelly Chappell saving a newborn's life. On October 21, Officer Chappell arrived at an Indianapolis home just moments after a baby was born unexpectedly. The mother, unaware of her pregnancy, was in distress as the baby was unresponsive. In the footage, Officer Chappell is seen performing chest compressions on the newborn before the Indianapolis Fire Department arrived to assist with clearing the baby’s airway. The infant was later transported to Riley Hospital for Children and is now recovering thanks in part to Officer Chappell's quick actions.
