A stingray photobombed an aquarium visitor's video of a diver hugging a blind shark while swimming.

Footage shows the large marine animal appearing to smile before blocking the view of the heartwarming moment at Cebu Ocean Park in the Philippines on December 30.

It occupied most of the frame and concealed the caretaker behind, who twirled underwater with the juvenile shark.

Visitor Jessamin Guarra said: 'We had gun visiting the ocean park. The caretakers were making sure the animals were well-attended to.'

Stingrays cannot smile like humans, but their underside can sometimes appear to have a friendly, smiling face. This is an illusion caused by the placement of their mouth, and gill slits on the underside of their body while their eyes are on top.
