STORYLINE:

In recent years, Beijing has steadily increased its global influence in the international exhibition industry by hosting major events like CIFTIS, the Zhongguancun Forum, and the Beijing Culture Forum.

At a recent roundtable meeting for international convention and exhibition organizations in Beijing, industry insiders from the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) expressed their admiration for the city's progress, highlighting its determination to build a world-class exhibition hub.

They also expressed their willingness to cooperate with Beijing to promote more trade exchanges and seek new development opportunities in the future.

SOUNDBITE 1 (English): CHUCK GROUZARD, Chairperson, International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE)
"I think there are great opportunities for Beijing to capitalize on all the strengths that they have to increase participation in expositions and events here.
I look at the progress, with the infrastructure, some of the really interesting things that Beijing has done. That's all really positive."

SOUNDBITE 2 (English): MARSHA FLANAGAN, President & CEO, International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE)
"I think openness leads to collaboration. Collaboration then leads to innovation. China, especially Beijing, from what I've seen, the infrastructure that's being put in place, miles ahead of many other countries. I think you're setting up for long-term success and you are going to reap the benefits of what's being built. In addition, I think we've talked about marketing opportunities, creating communities, experiencing or creating experiences for attendees and exhibitors, that is going to compete with other destinations worldwide. So I'm very optimistic for the businesses here in China."
