Coast Guard rescues fishermen from capsized boat in Alaska
This is the heroic moment the U.S. Coast Guard rescued two fishermen from a capsized boat in Alaska.
The emergency responders saved the distressed anglers after their 58ft vessel, the Tanusha, overturned approximately 23 miles southeast of Kodiak on January 15.
Dramatic footage shows the MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter hoisting the pair to safety, with one of them reportedly showing signs of hypothermia and a head injury.
A good Samaritan vessel nearby, the Victory, also assisted in the operation.
The fishermen were transported to Kodiak for medical treatment.
National Weather Service data indicated no gale warnings or small craft advisories in effect around the area on Wednesday morning.
