NAHMA, Mich. — A U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Traverse City MH-60 Dolphin helicopter crew rescued a vessel operator experiencing a medical emergency near Nahma on July 13.

The crew deployed Petty Officer 2nd Class Ryan Watkins, an aviation survival technician, who successfully hoisted the boater aboard the helicopter. The individual was then flown to a nearby airport, where emergency medical services were standing by to provide further care.

The Coast Guard continues to urge mariners to carry emergency communication devices and maintain safety protocols while on the water.
