This is how vets practice their aim with tranquliser darts
Veterinary medicine students showed how they practiced their aim with tranquiliser darts.
Footage shows the aspiring animal doctors blowing needles from a tube towards pictures of tiger, hippo, and wild cats in Chiang Mai, Thailand on January 16.
The youngsters stood behind a table which was 15ft (5m) away from the posters leaning on the wall of their classroom.
Phonpisut Wasuleewan who studies at Chiang Mai University said: 'We should shoot them in large muscles like legs or arms. The bull's eye is at the thighs and upper arms.
'That was how we practice but it would be more difficult in real life because animals move and naturally try to avoid people.'
Veterinarians use tranquiliser darts to safely immobilise animals in situations where direct handling is impractical or dangerous. They are also in emergencies, such as subduing escaped animals or treating injured wildlife. The process involves carefully calculated dosages, specialsed equipment, and close monitoring to ensure the safety and well-being of the animal.
