This is the adorable moment a lion couple appeared to take a romantic stroll along a beach in India.

Locals spotted the wildcats walking at Ahmedpur Mandvi Beach in Una, Himachal Pradesh on January 28.

Footage shows the animals casually wandering around the area.

The awe-struck filmer said: 'We saw them coming out from the forest and just walked around the beach. We were afraid that we might get hurt, so we moved back from the beach.'

Venkataraman, principal consultant at Carnivore Conservation and Research, added: 'The lions shelter in the prosopis plantations in the western coasts.

'These are very thick and very thorny habitats, in open areas and in the eastern coasts, they are actually making use of salt pan areas and mangroves.

'With time, these lions may develop a taste for scavenging dead fish.'

Authorities warn residents to keep their distance when encountering wildcats.
