Severe fog causes 60 cars pile up on motorway in India

Severe fog caused more than 60 cars to crash in a horror pile-up on a motorway in India.

The collisions occurred due to dense mist, resulting in multiple injuries and car damage in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, on 28 January.

Footage shows cars lined up with damages to the front and back, while travellers can be seen standing on the roadside.

Police reported that 30 vehicles on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway collided with one another due to poor visibility at 8:15 am.

The incident left five individuals injured, with one in critical condition while others suffered minor injuries. All of them were reportedly admitted to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

Another incident at 10:00 am on the Eastern Peripheral Expressway caused 35 cars to crash into each other on the lane coming from Baghpat.

One person was reportedly injured in the accident and was transported to the hospital.
