This is the shocking moment a speeding car rear-ended a van and a hatchback on a highway in Taiwan.

Mr Lin, in the black sedan, hit the back of the grey Volkswagen driven by Mr Ma and the black van on the Zhoumei Expressway in Taipei.

Footage shows the four-wheeler accelerating on the motorway before crashing into the two vehicles in front on December 17.

The sedan was totalled from the impact, with parts of the broken bumpers scattered on the ground.

Local media reported that Mr Lin suffered facial abrasions and bruises, while the driver of the grey Volkswagen, Mr Ma, 47, suffered abrasions on his head.

The owner of the black van was identified as Zhou, 47, who did not sustain any injuries in the incident.

Police are currently investigating the cause of the crash.
