Phoenix, United States - January 31, 2025 01/31/2025 10:00 pm (GMT-0700) PHOENIX, Ariz.– A large crowd of demonstrators gathered at the intersection of 43rd Avenue and McDowell Road in Maryvale / Phoenix. Several vehicles involved in the protest were seen performing donuts and burnouts in the area. Several Phoenix Police crowd control resources responded to the area. Officers utilized an LRAD device to issue warnings to the demonstrators. At least one person was arrested after refusing commands to exit the roadway. Officers deployed less lethal pepper balls, striking multiple vehicles that were driving toward crowd control units. Protesters detonated illegal fireworks in the intersection as officers continued to issue commands to the crowd. No injuries have been reported at this time.
