Workers fled as a raging fire ripped through warehouses near an airport in Indonesia.

Thirteen warehouse buildings were burned down close to Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang Regency, Banten Province, on January 31.

Footage shows thick black smoke billowing into the air as flames engulf the buildings.

The incident sparked panic among workers in the area after several explosions were heard coming from the burning structures.

Police Commissioner Zain Dwi Nugroho said: 'It is true that a major fire occurred in the Dadap warehouse area. The warehouse for chemicals and toys caught fire.'

Agun Guntara, Head of the Fire and Rescue Division, said that the fire started in a warehouse for children's toys made from plastic and then spread to a chemical warehouse, triggering an explosion.
