This is the terrifying moment thick fog caused dozens of cars to crash on a motorway in China.

The multiple-vehicle accident occurred due to low visibility caused by mist and foggy weather at Taohuayu Yellow River Bridge on the Taihui S26 Expressway in Zhengzhou, Henan, on February 2 at 10 am.

Footage shows cars manoeuvring towards wrecked vehicles in the middle of the road.

Passengers and drivers can be seen waving at passing vehicles in an attempt to stop them from navigating the road and colliding with the damaged cars.

Police reported that at least 100 vehicles were involved in the incident.

Some individuals reportedly sustained injuries and were later rushed to the hospital by ambulances.
