The Coast Guard Cutter Bertholf returned to California after completing an Arctic patrol.

The Legend-class maritime security cutter arrived home on February 7 following a gruelling 130-day deployment in the Bering Sea.

Footage shows the crews being welcomed by their families and loved ones.

Patrolling the harsh northern waters, the crew reinforced the Coast Guard's role in defence, diplomacy, and law enforcement, advancing national objectives in the strategically important region.

The Bering Sea, located between Alaska and Russia, is notorious for its extreme weather, icy waters, and unpredictable conditions. Its vast and remote environment presents significant challenges to maritime operations, with severe storms, freezing temperatures, and shifting sea ice making it one of the most challenging regions to patrol.
