Police hunt Australian tourists who 'attacked beach bar security guards in Bali'
Police are hunting a group of Australian tourists who fought with security guards on the holiday island of Bali.
The shirtless 'Bogan' backpackers allegedly harassed a woman before being kicked out of the Finns Beach Club in the Badung Regency, on February 11 evening.
However, as staff were escorting them to the exit, they reportedly went on a rampage and attacked the officers.
Shocking video shows the chaotic punch-up as the tourists appeared to gang up on a guard. They beat him with a parking stanchion before other guards joined the fray.
The violent holidaymakers were said to have fled from the scene. An Australian tourist with the initials LD was detained by police and interrogated.
Officers are now searching for the other members of the group.
Ipda I Putu Sukarma, a spokesman for the local police, said the brawl stemmed from the tourists' alleged harassment of another guest at the venue.
He said: 'The security there saw one of the alleged perpetrators strangling another guest sitting at another table. The cause was allegedly a row with a woman there.
'The incident ignited LD's emotions. An argument was unavoidable until LD strangled another customer at the table. Security officers immediately stepped in to break up the fight, but LD instead raised his middle finger at them.
'Because it was considered disturbing the order, the security officers finally decided to remove the perpetrators from the club area.
'LD is considered one of several suspects. The rest are still being pursued by police. A team is already on the field.'
Four security guards suffered broken teeth, lacerations, bruising, abrasion, bite wounds, and a bloody nose in the fight. They were treated at the Hydro Medical Clinic Bali.
The incident is one of the latest involving misbehaving tourists on the bustling holiday island in Indonesia, which is just over three hours on the plane from Perth.
Officials have even taken steps to reign in the chaos following complaints from police and residents about tourists disrespecting the culture, violating traffic rules, committing crimes and behaving badly in public.
