Chinese hikers survive cascading avalanche in heart-stopping moment captured on camera
On 12 February, multiple tourists trekking in the Rainboom Village scenic area, Diqing Prefecture, Yunnan, encountered an avalanche and captured the heart-stopping moment on video.
Footage shows a massive cascade of snow tumbling down from the mountain peak, engulfing the entire valley in a powerful gust and thunderous roar. Some visitors reported experiencing three avalanches within just 30 minutes, with one lasting around two minutes.
According to park staff, avalanches are not uncommon in the area, especially during heavy snowfall periods. No casualties or missing persons have been reported, and the site remains open to visitors. Authorities have implemented patrols and safety warnings while restricting access to high-risk zones.
Rainboom Village, located in Deqin County within the Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, is part of the Meili Snow Mountain National Park. Known for its breathtaking snow-capped peaks and rich Tibetan culture, it is a popular destination for trekking and outdoor adventures.
