A couple rode to their wedding on a buffalo-drawn cart.

Footage shows the bride, Anna Mae, seated on a cart while her groom, Louie, rode the back of the carabao in Leyte, the Philippines, on February 12.

Louie guided the farm animal to the venue, where it successfully crossed muddy dirt roads.

Anna Mae perched amid cloth and flowers in her decorated cart that matched the event's theme.

Their relative Bea Janelle Jumadas said: 'It was a simple and unique wedding held in my home town. The buffalo shows our heritage. Everyone loved it.'

A carabao is a subspecies of buffalo native to the Philippines and some parts of Southeast Asia. It has dark grey skin, and curved horns and is often used for farming.
