This is the moment a pride of lions chased a buffalo through an alley in India.

CCTV footage shows the farm animal walking loose outside homes before the group of six lions appeared in Amreli district of Gujarat state, early morning on February 14.

The predators ran after the fleeing bovine and quickly surrounded it.

The area near the Mitiyala Wildlife Sanctuary was reported to often see lions venturing in for prey.

Residents said two other animals have been killed by the pride, sparking concern that they might pounce on humans next.

In August 2024, a nine-year-old boy was mauled by a lion in the same district. The youngster named Krupal Vinu Chadhan suffered wounds to his thigh and waist, but survived the horror attack when villagers rushed to his rescue.

Local forest official Rajdeepsinh Jhala had said: 'According to our information, this was not a typical man-animal conflict case. The people disturbed the lion while it was eating, which irritated it. The lion, trying to escape the crowd, injured this boy.'
