Phoenix, United States - February 17, 2025 02/17/2025 03:45 am (GMT-0700) PHOENIX, Ariz. – Officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a Dodge Charger near the I-17 and Indian School Road area. The reason for the initial traffic stop has yet to be confirmed. The suspect behind the wheel refused to yield, and felony flight was established. Officers from the Phoenix Police Tactical Support Bureau and the Phoenix Police helicopter responded to the area to assist. The air unit quickly acquired the vehicle and initiated a tactical surveillance operation. Ground units disengaged from the vehicle and followed at a safe distance while the air unit tracked the suspect vehicle from above. The vehicle circulated various parts of Maryvale before entering the I-17 southbound from Indian School Road. The vehicle transitioned onto the I-10 and continued east until it reached 40th Street. The Tactical Support Bureau units converged on the suspect vehicle as it exited I-10 at 40th Street. A TSB unit approached the suspect vehicle from behind and deployed a Grappler Police Bumper. The Grappler deployed successfully, and the suspect vehicle was brought to an abrupt stop. Several patrol and Tactical Support Bureau units surrounded the vehicle, and a high-risk traffic stop was initiated. The suspects exited the vehicle from the passenger side window and were taken into custody without further incident. The three suspects were seen wearing ski masks as they were placed in handcuffs. A handgun was recovered in the vehicle.
