LENEXA, Kan. — A man wanted on a kidnapping warrant was arrested after Lenexa police used the Grappler Police Bumper to stop his vehicle during a late-night patrol, officials said.

Officers were patrolling the hotel district near 95th Street and Interstate 35 when they spotted a vehicle committing multiple traffic violations. When officers attempted a stop, the driver fled.

The Grappler device was deployed, bringing the vehicle to a safe halt. The suspect then ran but was quickly caught by an officer on foot.

Police said the driver now faces several charges, including aggravated assault, fleeing, interference with law enforcement and driving on a suspended license. The department praised the officers’ quick actions and emphasized their commitment to keeping the community safe.
