A Peaceful setting in the grand gardens of the Althorp Estate in England where Princess Diana was laid to rest.

Princess Diana died in a controversial car crash in Paris in 1997 aged 36. She was the most liked British Royal in recent history and an outcry of emotions was poured out after the news broke.

It was agreed that she would be buried on a private island in the grounds of her Spencer family home, the Althorp Estate in Northamptonshire, where her brother, Charles Spencer, still resides.

The grave cannot be accessed by the public, which on certain days of the year are allowed into the house and gardens.

Members of the family are able to use a rowing boat to get from the shore over to the island.

A small plinth stands at the head of the island, visible to the public, but is not inscribed with text facing the public.

On the ground accessed by visitors, there is a memorial with a bench at plaques dedicated to the late Princess of Wales where some well-wishers lay flowers for her.
