US, Los Angeles: DTLA Fatal Shooting Investigation

Los Angeles, United States - March 02, 2025 03/02/2025 07:52 pm (GMT-0800) DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The LAPD's Newton Division is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Sunday evening in the 700 block of South Stanford Avenue. Multiple evidence markers were visible around a Volkswagen SUV at the scene. A body was covered by a police privacy canopy on the sidewalk next to the vehicle. Officer Madison, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department, told Key News Network that the suspect armed with a gun pulled up in a vehicle and fired at the victim. The male victim, between 20 and 30 years old, suffered a gunshot wound and was pronounced deceased at the scene by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics, according to Madison. It is unknown at this time if the shooting is gang-related. The LAPD's Central Bureau Homicide is handling the investigation.
