Beijing Yucai Secondary School, located in Xicheng District’s Xiannongtan area, is a historic institution rich in cultural heritage. However, one of its most striking features is an enormous tree growing right in the middle of its football pitch.

According to school officials, this ancient tree is around 100 years old and has an extensive root system, making transplantation impossible. Rather than cutting it down, the school has chosen to implement protective measures to ensure its continued healthy growth.

To balance the use of the football pitch with the preservation of the tree, the school has carefully planned its activities. Smaller matches, PE lessons, and student exercises still take place on the field, while larger events are held at nearby venues such as Xiannongtan Stadium.

Standing tall in the heart of the pitch, this century-old tree has become a distinctive landmark of Beijing Yucai Secondary School, reflecting the institution’s deep respect for nature and cultural heritage.
