An aggressive monkey attacked a tourist who was recording him on a beach in Thailand.

Footage shows the primate receiving a snack from a girl he met on the shore in Krabi province on January 26.

However, the macaque turned aggressive when Zak Austin greeted it while it held the food.

The monkey growled and bared his fangs at Zak before extending an arm, trying to scratch the beach-goer.

Zak said: 'I visited the monkey beach because it was recommended to me, but I did not know what I was expecting.'

Monkeys in Thailand have become accustomed to tourists feeding them, and they often become aggressive. They have also been known to steal food and belongings from tourists.
