The U.S. Coast Guard seized narcotics worth 141 million USD in Florida.

Crew members from the Coast Guard Cutter Valiant (WMEC 621) offloaded tons of illegal substances at Base Miami Beach on March 6.

The massive haul came after six daring interdictions of 17 suspected drug smugglers caught red-handed in international waters in the Caribbean. The suspects were reportedly brought ashore to face federal charges in the country.

Authorities have intercepted multiple drug shipments in the Caribbean and surrounding waters in recent weeks, seizing thousands of pounds of cocaine and arresting several suspects.

On February 2, officials seized 6,220 pounds of cocaine approximately 30 miles north of Venezuela, leading to the arrest of five suspects. That same day, another operation uncovered 2,200 pounds of cocaine about 35 miles southwest of the U.S. Virgin Islands, resulting in three more arrests.

Less than two weeks later, on February 14, authorities confiscated 571 pounds of cocaine approximately 18 miles north of Venezuela.

Another significant bust occurred on February 17, when law enforcement intercepted 1,280 pounds of cocaine about 50 miles northeast of the Dominican Republic, detaining five individuals.

The crackdown continued into March, when officials seized 1,650 pounds of cocaine roughly 176 miles north of Cabo De La Vela, Colombia, and arrested three suspects. A few days later, on March 4, authorities intercepted 545 pounds of cocaine approximately 120 miles northwest of Aruba, leading to the arrest of two more suspects.

Authorities hailed the operation as a major blow to the drug trade plaguing the region.

The seized narcotics, a fortune in illegal substances, were proudly displayed at the base, marking yet another win for the Coast Guard in their relentless fight against smuggling networks.
