Dramatic footage shows the aftermath of a tornado in Kentwood, Louisiana.

The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office reported that more than 30 homes were destroyed by the freak weather on Saturday evening, March 15.

The video clip reveals uprooted trees, downed power lines, damaged properties, and scattered debris.

Despite the widespread destruction, no injuries were reported.

Authorities stated that the same tornado likely caused damage and fatalities in Tylertown, Mississippi.

Overall, at least 40 people were killed in the cross-country storm, officials said.

Twelve deaths were reported in Missouri, eight in Kansas, six in Mississippi, four in Texas, three in Arkansas, two in Alabama, and four in Oklahoma.
