Los Angeles, United States - March 21, 2025 03/21/2025 11:00 pm (GMT-0800) Pacoima W Authorities are developing a plan to dispose of remaining explosives found in a home at 13556 Remington St, which officials believe was being used to manufacture illegal homemade fireworks. To mitigate water runoff, crews built a dirt berm around the structure and applied thermal gel on neighboring homes, along with what appears to be a plastic tarp. As a precaution, officials evacuated at least 60 homes in the surrounding area and ensured that all civilians and personnel were in safe positions. A fire broke out at the property, followed by a large explosion, which appeared to be fireworks. The target property caught fire as crews employed the LAFD RS3, an unmanned firefighting apparatus, to cool adjacent homes and prevent any damage from the flames. Firefighters seem to be allowing the target home to burn while monitoring the situation using a drone to keep an eye on potential exposures as well as the home itself. Currently, it does not appear that anyone has been injured during this operation. It remains unclear how long the area will be closed off.
