Crossdressing flower-seller attacks tourist in Phuket
This is the shocking moment a crossdressing flower vendor picked a fight with a male tourist on a Thai island.
The pink-haired bouquet seller - dressed in full-body tights and bright pink high-heeled sock boots - reportedly harassed the backpacker as he was walking along the party street in Phuket island on March 20.
Footage shows how the vendor repeatedly blocked the man's path, aggressively urging him to purchase a rose bouquet. Despite the man's visible frustration, the insistent crossdresser refused to back down and continued with her pushy sales tactics.
As the exasperated tourist tried to brush past him, he lashed out and swatted him on the head. The row spiralled out of control when he stomped toward the man wielding a high heel in hand - only to be sent reeling by a powerful hook from the burly holidaymaker.
Locals later intervened and separated the pair.
An onlooker said the ladyboy - a man who wears women's clothing - was a foreigner helping a Thai friend sell flowers.
The attack is the latest incident of ladyboys being involved in violence on the island.
On March 13, a gaggle of violent crossdressers pounded a holidaymaker into the ground outside a nightclub.
On March 5, two male tourists were also beaten by ladyboys when they tried to defend a Thai woman being attacked by the transgender women 'for stealing their clients'.
On February 15, two ladyboy prostitutes shocked customers as they fought over a male foreign tourist at a pool hall in 'Sin City' Pattaya.
In February last year, several British tourists were questioned by police when a sex party with five transgender escorts erupted into a mass brawl that neighbours likened to 'World War Three'.
Shocking footage showed naked sex workers running into the street as the two groups hurled glasses and garden pots at each other over the garden wall. Inside the property, broken glass littered the floor and blood was splattered across the walls among empty bottles and cigarettes.
The once-pristine island of Phuket has been marred by over-tourism as the Thai government implements a visa-free scheme to boost revenue following the barren pandemic years.
The island saw 800,000 foreign visitors last year alone.
However, angry locals claim the push for tourist dollars has attracted crowds of 'low-quality' visitors from Russia, India and Australia. There are also fears that the island has become an enclave of criminal activity, with police unable to control street fights and more organised ruffians setting up rackets among local businesses.
Phuket officials said they are implementing tighter immigration controls and screening processes amid a wave of drug-related crimes and illegal activities on the island.
