This is the hilarious moment hapless thieves fled an electronics shop raid with dummy iPhones.

Two suspects wearing black hoodies smashed their way into the store using bricks to steal the displayed smartphones in Herne, Germany, on March 20.

CCTV footage shows the men entering through the shattered glass door before rushing toward the racks and attempting to yank the devices free with their bare hands, despite the steel-cored security cables holding them in place.

As they struggled to detach the phones, their movements triggered the store's security system, which set off a blaring siren and released thick smoke into the showroom.

They then frantically fled to store, escaping with nothing but a single dummy display model of an Apple iPhone 16 Pro.

Shopkeeper Omar said: 'I had to laugh when I first saw the video. When the shelf fell to the floor, they could have simply grabbed the entire shelf. Then they would have had six phones.'
