Thick wildfire smoke spread from Yeongju to Bonghwa in Gyeongbuk, South Korea, on March 25, 2025, as severe blazes devastated the region.

This footage, filmed by @roloworld88, shows the worsening conditions, with the filmer noting a strong burning smell and eye irritation. Nearby residents in Andong, Uiseong, Cheongsong, and Yeongyang are being urged to wear masks and take respiratory precautions.

The outbreak is part of a series of wildfires that have claimed four lives and scorched thousands of hectares across South Korea. Dry, windy conditions have intensified the fires, according to The Japan Times.

Authorities continue to monitor air quality, with recent readings in Hyucheon, Yeongju-si, reporting a PM2.5 level of 17 and an AQI of 43.

Residents are advised to remain indoors where possible and follow safety guidance as firefighting efforts continue.
